Michael Guy
CFDAI, DHT, CSI, CDT, IQP B.Sc.
Senior Associate

Michael started in the door and hardware profession by attending his step-father’s conferences and seminars at the age of fifteen. Later in life, Michael’s experience as a construction apprentice, education in fire technology, and in Door and Hardware certification allowed him to apply his knowledge and background experience in the door and hardware industry. In 2013, he joined Door + Hardware Consultants Inc. (DHC) as an associate, and contributed to many aspects of the company by attending meetings with clients and field inspections.

To enhance his knowledge and understanding of the door and hardware industry, Michael joined Walters & Wolf, a large distributor in the Bay area, as Senior Fire Door Inspector. There, he educated, supported, and trained over 150 union carpenters to enhance their overall performance in the field, which increased their compliance rate of codes and standards. In addition, he worked as a project manager, project estimator, field surveyor, quality control manager, and an instructor in codes and standards for the company.

After two years with Walters & Wolf, he moved to Seattle, Washington, where he joined dormakaba as an Architectural Consultant for the Pacific Northwest territory which consisted of working within six states. He was able to increase the total project revenues within a two-year period.

In 2023, Michael joined Intertek as a Field Representative for Building & Construction, and Fire Door Assembly Inspector for Intertek Testing Services (ITS-Warnock Hersey). Within the same year, he teamed up again with DHC to grow the family business. Michael’s responsibilities consist of day-to-day operations, field surveys, field inspections, client relations, face-to-face page turns, and design coordination meetings.

Michael currently lives in the greater Seattle area with his wife, Priscilla, and samoyed dog, Nonna.
