Scott J. Tobias is the author of Illustrated Guide to Door Hardware: Design, Specification, Selection. He currently serves on the Door & Hardware Institute’s (DHI) Board of Governors and is the Chair of the mid-Hudson chapter of ASIS International (ASIS). He has been servicing the architectural, design, and construction communities for over 25 years with multi-disciplinary door openings industry experience.
Scott has acquired a vast knowledge of door hardware applications, code references, specification writing processes, contract distribution sales, installation practices, and corporate management. He is also an expert with demand generation sales and management strategies, which he shares by public speaking and as a keynote at various educational events.
Having also served on the national board of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and many local and regional boards of both DHI, CSI, and ASIS, he has also authored numerous articles for the Construction Specifier magazine, Cleaning & Maintenance magazine, Life Safety Digest, and Door and Hardware magazine
