Mr. Sissom's experience spans more than thirty years in the door, hardware, and security electronics industries. Combined with his background and training, this experience has produced a high level of expertise in the application of door opening components fulfilling aesthetic design intent and security requirements, while complying with national and local building codes regulating fire/ life safety and accessibility. As a recognized expert in door hardware, he is a frequently requested speaker and commentator at industry conferences and events nationwide. His services are widely in demand as a consultant for projects across the country and internationally.
Education and experience in virtually every aspect of door hardware, architectural doors and frames, electronic and security door hardware are integral parts of David's unique qualification as a multi-disciplinary consultant in these interrelated but oft uncoordinated design disciplines. He has been involved in many different aspects of the construction process including manufacturing, marketing and distribution of doors and hardware; as well as field installation of door and hardware systems as a licensed general contractor. For more than a decade he has been devoted exclusively to project specification development for Door Hardware, Door and Frame Components, Security/ Detention Door Hardware, and Electronic Door Hardware.
